IIAIM works to advance the safe, effective and equitable use of artificial intelligence in medicine. We educate the health workforce, generate rigorous evidence and connect the people who build, evaluate and use clinical AI.

Why IIAIM exists
Artificial intelligence is entering clinical practice faster than the evidence, training and governance that should accompany it. The US Food and Drug Administration has authorized more than 1,000 AI-enabled medical devices. Many reached the market on the strength of retrospective data. Most clinicians have received little formal training in how to appraise them.
IIAIM exists to close this gap. We bring together physicians, researchers, biomedical engineers, data scientists and students. Together, we learn, test claims rigorously and build AI that improves patient care.

IIAIM publishes only verified information. We state clearly when an activity is planned rather than active. Our governance, conflict-of-interest rules and industry independence policy are public.
